Law Talks

LEAP, Louisiana ATJ, and Louisiana Lawyers in Libraries host monthly Law Talk held virtually! There are various legal topics covered in each presentation. To register visit Lawyers in Libraries. You can also follow on Facebook @LouisianaLawyersinLibraries.

Community legal education is a core part of our vision. We offer “Know Your Rights” workshops, staff outreach fairs, and participate in other community events to ensure individuals and families have the knowledge they need to protect their legal rights. “Know Your Rights” sessions educate seniors, domestic violence survivors, veterans and the community at large about topics such as, but not limited to:

  • Landlord-Tenant Tenant’s Rights
  • Family Law Matters
  • Wills and Successions
  • Employment Rights
  • Legal Protections for Domestic Violence Survivors
  • Public Benefits Access Issues
  • Expungements
  • Disaster Survivor Rights
To host a “Know Your Rights” Workshop for your neighborhood or community organization?  Both in-person and Zoom meeting formats are available.
