October is Pro Bono Week nationwide. In 2022, Louisiana’s poverty rate was 18.6%, and every dollar spent on Louisiana’s civil legal aid services provides $13.28 in immediate and long-term financial benefits to those who qualify for legal help, living up to 200% above the poverty line. The need for legal services attorneys is significant, and with the help of various pro bono programs across the state, we can address the urgent demand for pro bono and legal aid services. Read more about all the pro bono programs in Louisiana, including Acadiana Legal Services Corporation, CENLA Pro Bono Project, Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers, and Shreveport Bar Association, in our service area here.
