The What?, Why? & How? in Family Law Matters

This CLE provides a comprehensive overview of the family law matters handled by ALSC, including case types, merit evaluation, and the respective roles of attorneys and support staff throughout case representation. Participants will gain insight into the legal outcomes achieved for clients and learn how to identify and address related civil legal issues through a holistic, client-centered approach. This presentation will share and discuss examples of how and when collaborating with other ALSC substantive practice units can result in better outcomes for our clients.

Lions, Tigers, & Bears… AI, Scammers & Hackers… Oh, My!

This CLE explores the opportunities and risks associated with artificial intelligence and today’s evolving technology landscape. Participants will learn about the ethical and practical pitfalls of AI use, common cybersecurity threats, online scams, and hacking risks, as well as best practices for protecting client information, maintaining confidentiality, and using technology responsibly in the legal profession.

Delivering Exceptional Value-Based Client Services

This CLE Professionalism examines how the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Rules of Professionalism, together with ALSC’s core values, provide the framework for delivering exceptional client service and ethical legal representation. Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, participants will explore how professionalism extends beyond legal competence to include treating every applicant and client with dignity, communicating effectively and in a timely, safeguarding confidentiality, managing client expectations, and providing holistic, client-centered legal services. The program emphasizes removing barriers to access to justice, strengthening public trust in the legal profession, and ensuring that every client interaction reflects the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and ALSC’s mission of advocating for fairness, protection, and justice for its disadvantaged client community.
